How compressing to 20 KB works
A 20KB limit is one of the tightest upload caps you will meet online. Government exam portals, older school and college admission systems, and some banking KYC forms still enforce it because their storage was sized decades ago. Getting to 20KB is not a single quality slider. Our compressor first binary-searches JPEG quality at full resolution, and only when that cannot reach the budget does it step the dimensions down in 20% increments and search again.
